چکیده

Low birth weight (LBW) babies are associated with neonatal morbidity and mortality at increased risk for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in later life. However, the molecular determinants of LBW not well understood. Placental insufficiency/dysfunction is most frequent etiology fetal growth restriction resulting placental epigenetic processes suggested to be important regulators pregnancy outcome. Early life exposures like altered maternal nutrition may have long-lasting effects on health offspring via mechanisms DNA methylation microRNA (miRNA) regulation. miRNAs been recognized as major gene expression known play an role development. Angiogenesis placenta regulated by transcription factor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) which activated ligands such long-chain-polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA). In vitro studies different cell types indicate that can influence miRNA We hypothesize acid status regulation PPAR genes women delivering babies. This review provides overview their babies.Abbreviations: AA - Arachidonic Acid; Ago2 Argonaute2; ALA Alpha-Linolenic ANGPTL4 Angiopoietin-Like Protein 4; C14MC Chromosome 14 Cluster; C19MC 19 CLA Conjugated Linoleic CSE Cystathionine ?-Lyase; DHA Docosahexaenoic EFA – Essential Fatty Acids; E2F3 E2F 3; EPA Eicosapentaenoic FGFR1 Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1; GDM Gestational Diabetes Mellitus; hADMSCs Human Adipose Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells; hBMSCs Bone Marrow HBV Hepatitis B Virus; HCC Hepatocellular Carcinoma; HCPT Hydroxycamptothecin; HFD High-Fat Diet; Hmads Multipotent Adipose-Derived Stem; HSCS Hepatic Stellate IUGR Intrauterine Restriction; LA Birth Weight; LCPUFA Long-Chain Polyunsaturated MEK1 Mitogen-Activated Kinase MiRNA MicroRNA; mTOR Mammalian Target Rapamycin; NCDs NonCommunicable Diseases; OA Oleic PASMC Pulmonary Artery Smooth Muscle Cell; PLAG1 Pleiomorphic Adenoma Gene Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor; PPAR? alpha; PPAR? gamma; PPAR? delta; pre-miRNA precursor miRNA; RISC RNA-Induced Silencing Complex; ROS Reactive Oxygen Species; SAT Subcutaneous Tissue; WHO World Health Organization

The toxicology of ligands for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR).

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligand activated transcription factors that modulate target gene expression in response to endogenous and exogenous ligands. Ligands for the PPARs have been widely developed for the treatment of various diseases including dyslipidemias and diabetes. While targeting selective receptor activation is an established therapeutic approach for th...

Peroxisome Proliferator-activated Receptors

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are members of the ligand-activated nuclear hormone receptor superfamily of transcription factors that includes receptors for steroids, thyroid hormone, retinoic acid, and vitamin D. Upon activation in the cytoplasm, PPARs heterodimerize with retinoid X receptors (RXR) and form a complex that translocates to the nucleus and regulates gene expr...

Medium Chain Fatty Acids Are Selective Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor (PPAR) γ Activators and Pan-PPAR Partial Agonists

Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) act through peroxisome proliferator activated receptor (PPAR) γ to increase insulin sensitivity in type 2 diabetes (T2DM), but deleterious effects of these ligands mean that selective modulators with improved clinical profiles are needed. We obtained a crystal structure of PPARγ ligand binding domain (LBD) and found that the ligand binding pocket (LBP) is occupied by b...

Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors Associated with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is rapidly becoming a major cause of chronic liver disease worldwide. Concurrent to an increase in NAFLD prevalence, there is an increase in the obesity epidemic and the correlated insulin-resistant state. It is a challenge to diagnose NAFLD because many patients are asymptomatic until the later stages of disease. The most common symptoms include fatigue...

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors and cardiovascular remodeling.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are nuclear receptors that heterodimerize with the retinoid X receptor and then modulate the function of many target genes. Three PPARs are known: alpha, beta/delta, and gamma. The better known are PPAR-alpha and PPAR-gamma, which may be activated by different synthetic agonists, although the endogenous ligands are unknown. PPAR-alpha is invol...
